The Cactus and Succulent Society of Alberta was established in 1997 by a group of people sharing an interest in these odd and unusual plants.
We meet at least four times a year – usually on Sundays – to exchange information on how to propagate, grow and take care of cacti and succulents.
We organize various activities like our annual plant sale at the Muttart Conservatory in Edmonton as well as a photo contest and occasional outings to visit local collectors or areas of the province where cacti are grown.
The society publishes the Cereusly Speaking newsletter available to Members of the Society, which comes out four times a year: in January, April, July, and October. Structurally, the organization is moving to using Google Groups as its main tool for interactive communication with its members, with further information related to membership being available through our email contact CASSAinquiries@gmail.com. This website is being restructured to serve more as an access point for introducing our Society and the posting of general interest articles for the general public and to foster interest in Cacti.
